Design Overview & Tactical Role
The French Leclerc was the first Western tank designed with a native autoloader and a 3-man crew. Powered by a hyperbar diesel engine that accelerates from 0 to 32 km/h in only 5.5 seconds, its newly upgraded XLR 'Scorpion' variant integrates into the SCORPION collaborative combat cloud with the SICS digital command system, reinforced modular anti-IED belly armor, and a modernized roof remote weapon station.
Combat History & Battle Records
Named after Marshal Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque who spearheaded the liberation of Paris in 1944, the Leclerc replaced the AMX-30 in French service. It saw successful peace-enforcement deployments in Kosovo and Lebanon, and demonstrated combat capabilities with the UAE Armed Forces in Yemen.
