Design Overview & Tactical Role

The T-84 Oplot-M represents the zenith of the famed Kharkiv armor design lineage originating with the legendary T-34 and T-64. Distinguished by its unique 6TD-2E opposed-piston two-stroke diesel engine (which runs on diesel, gasoline, kerosene, or jet fuel), it features an innovative 'Duplet' tandem-charge reactive armor that detonates multiple explosive layers to stop modern tandem shaped-charge warheads and heavy sabot penetrators.

Combat History & Battle Records

Designed by KMDB in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the Oplot-M was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and successfully exported to the Royal Thai Army, which deployed 49 vehicles as their premier armored force.
