Design Overview & Tactical Role
Universally celebrated as one of the greatest tank designs in history, the British Centurion established the modern concept of the 'Universal Tank' (which evolved into the Main Battle Tank). Outfitted later with the game-changing 105 mm Royal Ordnance L7 rifled gun, it achieved unmatched longevity, remaining in frontline and derived service across multiple continents for over six decades.
Combat History & Battle Records
Completed just too late for World War II, the Centurion proved invincible in the snows of the Korean War during the Battle of the Imjin River. In Israeli service as the Sho't, it accomplished legendary combat feats, including the famous defense of the Valley of Tears against overwhelming Syrian armor during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
