The T-90M Proryv ('Breakthrough') is Russia's most capable modernized operational main battle tank. It features an all-new welded turret with an isolated bustle ammunition compartment, remedying the catastrophic cook-off vulnerability of older Soviet carousels. Outfitted with Relikt ERA, the Kalina multi-channel digital fire control system, and a stabilized remote weapon station, it provides profound firepower and crew survivability in a compact 48-ton silhouette.
Combat History & Battle Records
Developed by Uralvagonzavod under the 'Proryv-3' program, the T-90M was first delivered to the Russian Ground Forces in April 2020. The T-90 family descended directly from the T-72BU initiative combining T-72B ruggedness with T-80U fire control. The T-90M has seen extensive frontline action during modern conventional conflicts across Eastern Europe.
